About us
What Mother Made is an independent London brand creating thoughtfully made clothing for women and children aged 0–10 years, alongside a carefully curated collection of toys, books, gifts, accessories and homeware.
Founded by Charlotte Denn-Cirrone, What Mother Made began 15 years ago as a small market stall on Broadway Market. Charlotte started by sewing clothes for her daughter, and the brand has grown from those beginnings into a much-loved independent business with shops across London.
Our own clothing What Mother Made is designed and handmade in East London, produced in small batches using carefully selected fabrics and a zero-waste approach wherever possible. Our designs blend classic traditional shapes with cool, contemporary details alongside locally sourced fabrics and contrast prints creating comfortable, practical pieces made for everyday childhood. Clothes children can move, play and grow in.
We believe in making things properly and making them to last. Our fabrics are thoughtfully selected, our garments are made locally, and we design pieces with longevity in mind. We want our clothes to be worn, re-worn, handed down and loved for years.
Alongside our own collections, we stock a carefully chosen mix of independent and like-minded brands that share our love of good design, quality and thoughtful production. These include OMY, Just Bee, Kids Concept, Kidoki, Le Petit Souk, Salted Stories, Halcyon Nights, Igor, Mimi & Lula, Avery Row, Petit Piao, Yonder, Noodoll, Gamcha, Izipizi and Mushie.
From a tiny market stall to our London shops and online store, What Mother Made remains proudly independent, locally made and family-focused. Bringing together things we love and believe are worth keeping.
